Alexina Barber

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, September 3, 2021, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in for Alexina Barber, 97, who passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her family. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Friday.A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Friday.Rev. George Ajuruchi, SSJ will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Alexina was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and loved praying the rosary every day. She loved reading, visiting the sick, and sharing her homemade bread with family and friends. Alexina will be remembered for her generosity and her unconditional love for her family. She is survived by her two sons, Carroll Barber (Eleria) and Darrell Barber (Carlean); five daughters, Alda Mae Barber, Hilda Spencer (Earl), Anna Barber, Alice Malone (Melvin), and Eva Mouton (William); 37 grandchildren; 72 great grandchildren; and 57 great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Barber; son, Leroy Wiltz; two daughters, Doris Roman and Laurie Hypolite; parents John and Mary Louise Alexander John; granddaughter, Denise Derousselle; great grandson, Colvin Barber; great-great granddaughter, Cortney Barber.
