New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM , Friday, June 24, 2011 , at Assembly Christian Center in New Iberia , for Dwight J. Viator 76, who passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in New Iberia . Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville. Rev. Paul Neel will officiate. Born on May 22, 1935 , Mr. Viator retired as a paint supervisor from McDermott Fabricators after 27 years of service. A veteran of the National Guard and the Civil Air Patrol, he enjoyed reading his Bible and sharing Gods word. 'Did anyone tell you today that Jesus Loves You Let me be the first to tell you He loves you.' Survivors include his wife, Laida 'Ann' Guidry Viator of New Iberia; son, Marty Viator and wife Joni of New Iberia; daughters, Debbie Viator Mason and husband Rick of Youngsville, Brenda Viator Mora of New Iberia; sister, Janice LeBlanc and husband Orres of New Iberia; grandchildren, Micah Mora, Mattias Mora, Dwight B. Viator, Jaime V. Frederick; great grandchildren, Jadon Frederick, Jenna Frederick, Jericho Frederick; nieces, Arlene, Genie, Leah, and Beth. He was preceded in death by his father, Milton Viator; mother, Paola Reaux Viator; step mother, Exa Viator; maternal grandparents, Olive Reaux, Dema Reaux; paternal grandparents, Elais Viator, and Lydia Viator. Pallbearers will be Marty Viator, Dwight B. Viator, Jeremy Frederick, Rick Mason, Agustin Mora, and Steve Cypel. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 3:30 PM until 7:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia .
