Edna Theriot

St.Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a .m., on Monday, July 11, 2011, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Edna Seiber Theriot, 86, who passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at her residence. Msgr. J. Douglas Courville will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Barbara Theriot and Donna Theriot. Gifts will be presented to the Altar by Samantha Trail and Nathan Theriot. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mrs. Theriot was a lifelong parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Roman Catholic Church, where she was a faithful adorer in the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration. She was a member of Martha's Guild, Catholic Daughters of America, and the A.A.R.P. Prior to her retirement she was employed by The Gary Company, Dupois Pharmacy, and Braud's Flower Shop. In her free time she enjoyed doing word search puzzles and reading. She was a fabulous seamstress who loved sewing, doing alterations and handwork for family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and looked forward to cooking for her family on any given occasion. Edna's favorite time of year was Christmas, in which she would do one of her most loved enjoyments, 'Baking' - she would bake for everyone and anyone; it brought her immense joy to share her sweet treats. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her son, Karl Theriot and his wife, Donna; Sue Ellen Trail, Barbara Theriot, and Peggy Theriot; seven grandchildren, Denise Trail Lessert, Katherine Trail Freeman, Jack Lindsey Trail, III, Buddy Todd Theriot, Gregory Paul Theriot, Nicholas Joseph Theriot, and Christopher Lee Theriot; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Theriot; her parents, Rodolph and Ada Bouligny Seiber; a daughter, Mary Theriot; one sister, Aimee S. Romero; and one brother, Henry Seiber. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 a .m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday and continue on Monday at 7 a .m. until 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited by the Catholic Daughters at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Pallbearers will be Lindsey Trail, Buddy Theriot, Gregory Theriot, Nicholas Theriot, Christopher Theriot, and Bobby (Robert) Theriot.
