Elda Talley

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Elda Mora Talley, 83, who passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Tuesday and continue at 7:00 am until 1:30 pm on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Rev. Kenneth A. Bienvenu will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Linda Talley and Melanie Guidry. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Elda loved going to the casino and playing Bingo. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking delicious meals and sweet treats to share with her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Ernie (Stella) Talley of St. Martinville; two daughters, Elda (Dwight) Dautreuil of St. Martinville and Linda Talley of Ft. Worth, TX, 11 grandchildren, Ernie Talley, Jr., Dwight Dautreuil, Darlene Bergeron, Melanie Guidry, Brian Dautreuil, Elizabeth Coats, Mance Savoie, Brent Savoie, Ondina Savoie, Peter Savoie, Jr., and Robert Savoie; 14 great grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Leroy Burgess; and her sister-in-law, Hazel Mora. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Talley; her daughter, Laura T. Savoie; two sons, Thomas Richard Talley and Albert Richard Talley; her parents, Frank and Elda Agatha Marcotte Mora; three brothers, William Mora, Sr., Frank Mora, Jr., and Howard Mora; and two sisters, Margaret Acosta and Dora Burgess. Pallbearers will be Ernie Talley Jr., Brian Dautreuil, Dwight J. Dautreuil, Robert Savoie, Brent Savoie, Blair Guidry. Honorary pallbearers will be Peter Savoie, Jr., Mance Savoie, and Jessie Dautreuil.
