Mr. Cormier was my Supervisor while at Central Juvenile Hall. I remember one Christmas he had all the staff bring something for the youth of the unit. Everyone brought something different. Mr. Cormier purchased clear shoe boxes and we filled the boxes up with all the goodies. Mr. Cormier made sure ALL the boxes were wrapped. Then late at night when the youth were sleeping he placed a box in front of every door next to the youth's shoes. In the morning all the youth were happy. It was Christmas morning. I never saw so many happy youth. Mr. Cormier always put the youth first. When a particular staff confronted Mr. Cormier and said "These kids don't deserve this." Mr. Cormier merely looked the officer in the eye and softly stated "Sir, no one deserves anything." He taught me many lessons. He was always a sharp dresser. Most of all he was a genuine friend. I will miss him GREATLY. I will always miss you sir, Elmo Cormier.
