Etta Lalonde

Cecilia- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Etta Scrantz Lalonde, 76, who passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013, at Opelousas General Hospital. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm on Wednesday and continue at 7:00 am until 10:45 am on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Wednesday. Rev. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Stephanie Roberts and Denise Angelle. Gift Bearers will be Olivia Berard and John Duron. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Mrs. Lalonde was a wonderful cook who enjoyed preparing meals for family gatherings. She especially loved spending time with her family, friends, grandkids, and great grandkids. As a pastime, she enjoyed playing Bingo. She is survived by four daughters, Debi Lalonde and her companion, Louis Ray, Phyllis Lalonde Berard and her companion, Gerald LeBlanc, all of Cecilia, Tina Lalonde Duron and her husband, Mark, of Hebron, Indiana, and Yvonne Lalonde Guidry and her husband, Norris, of Breaux Bridge; her brother, Floyd Scrantz and his wife, Jane, of Cecilia; two grandchildren, Olivia Berard and John Duron; two great grandchildren, Evan and Emma Oubre; and one step grandchild, Shelli Guidry. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Lalonde; her parents, Theophile and Lizzie Huval Scrantz; her son in law, Clarence Berard; a sister, Stella Angelle; and a brother, Ralph Scrantz. Pallbearers will be Dr. Joseph Boyd Lalonde, Ronnie Lalonde, Gerald LeBlanc, Norris Guidry, Mark Duron, and B.J. Angelle. Pellerin Funeral Homeof Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
