Eugene Decoux

Interment will follow in the Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau. Rev. Bert Langley will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:00 am until 11:00 am. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Decoux was a resident of Coteau, and was born in Erath on December 3, 1930 to the late Cyriac and Laura Menard Decoux. He worked for Borden's for over 20 years, then retired from the Louisiana Highway Dept. (DOTD), with 14 years of service. Mr. Decoux loved playing his guitar and singing gospel songs. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 62 years Mae Grace Romero Decoux of Coteau; sons, Randy Decoux and wife Melba of New Iberia, Terry Decoux and wife Kim of Coteau, Glen Decoux of Coteau; daughters, Lisa Langston and husband Wayne of Coteau, Lori Breaux and husband Paul of St. Martinville; brother, Lawrence Decoux of Erath; sister, Anite Viator of Erath; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Nelson Decoux, Doris Decoux, Robert Decoux, Sydney Decoux, C.D. Decoux, Dennis Decoux, Marshall Decoux and Ollie Decoux; sisters, Aline Mouton and Lelia Mouton. Pallbearers will be Randy Decoux, Terry Decoux, Glen Decoux, Wayne Langston, Paul Breaux Sr., and Paul Anthony Breaux II. Honorary pallbearers include his grandchildren R.J. Decoux, Crystal Decoux, Katie Decoux, Kelly Castillo, Alison Lanza, Breleigh Trahan, Brittany Bradley, Payton Breaux, and Parker Breaux. The family would like to give special thanks to Bridgeway Hospice, especially to nurses Valerie, Charlotte, and Denasia, for their loving care and support.
