Fulton Broussard

Catahoula - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula, for Fulton J. "F.J." Broussard, Jr., 64, who passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at his residence. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula from 8:30 am until 1:45 pm on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 1:15 pm on Wednesday. Rev. Richard Fabre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Travis Courville and Gift Bearers will be Annette and Lee Schouest. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. Mr. Broussard was a veteran of the Vietnam War having honorably serving his country in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion. F.J., as he was better known to his family and friends, was a good provider for his family and considerate of others. He was a mechanic by trade, and a very good one at that. He worked for Mallard for many years and loved being on the highway as a truck driver. An avid outdoorsman, F.J. loved riding horses and Bass fishing - he loved the tranquility of being in the Atchafalaya Basin and loved listening to Country music. He was a family man who loved being surrounded by his family and friends and spending times with them reminiscing about the 'good old times,' over a beer and preferably around a bonfire. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Debbie Latiolais Broussard; his father, Fulton Joseph Broussard Sr., two sons, Kevin Broussard and Benji (Tiffany) Broussard; three brothers, Steven (Connie) Broussard, Kenny (Joan) Broussard, and Robert Broussard; his sister, Annette Broussard Schouest; and two grandchildren, Bailey and Kash He is preceded in death by his mother, Elize Patin Broussard; a brother, Chris Broussard; his in-laws, Gilbert 'Rueben' and Juanita T. Latiolais; and his sister-in-law, Jenny L. Courville. Pallbearers will be Kenny Broussard, Robert Broussard, Shane Broussard, Ben Broussard, Travis Courville, and Brad Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Theriot, Kermit Sonnier, Billy Stile, Terry Broussard, and Steven Broussard. Pellerin Funeral Home (337.332.2111), is in charge of arrangements.
