Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Teche Baptist Church in Breaux Bridge, for Gilbert Guidry, 86, who passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home. Inurnment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mr. Guidry enjoyed spending time with all of his family and friends. Gilbert was such a people person - he truly never met a stranger. He loved music, especially playing his guitar, and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World for many years. He is survived by his sons, Larry Guidry and wife Pat, and Wayne Guidry and wife Cynthia; his grandchildren, Kacey Derouen, Suzanne Landry, Connie Guidry, and Mark Roberthon; 8 great grandchildren; his brothers, Melvin Guidry, Douglas Guidry, Zerben Guidry, and Thomas Guidry; and his brother-in-law, Lynn Landry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Lena Guidry; his parents, Ancy and Elia Latiolais Guidry; his sisters, Verna Faucheaux, Evelyn Theriot, Patsy Landry, and Rhena Guidry; his brother, Jim Guidry, and an infant brother, Vincent Guidry.
