New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday, June 11, 2010 at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia for Glenn David Duhon, 60 who died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in Delhi, LA. Military rites will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Rev. Mike Arnaud will be the Celebrant. Born on June 9, 1949, Mr. Duhon worked as a wireline supervisor in the oilfield for over 20 years. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army and the National Guard, and was a member of the American Legion. He and his wife, Tressie, were a Host Family for Louisiana State Parks, traveling and meeting new people, which they dearly loved. Mr. Duhon also enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, diving, and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all. A Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Mr. Duhon served as a Faithful Navigator and District Deputy. He also hosted the Knights of Columbus Handicap Christmas Party for several years. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Tressie Tullier Duhon; mother, Merline Comeaux Dubois of St. Martinville; daughters, Tricia Duhon Boutte and husband R.P. of Loreauville, Crystal Duhon Derouen and husband Lawrence of Loreauville; his special aunt who helped raise him, Mabel Romero of New Iberia; brothers, Steve Duhon, Russell Duhon, Bobbie Duhon, and Jeff Duhon all of New Iberia; sisters, Shirley D. Romero and husband Donald Romero, Sr. of New Iberia, Amanda Gail Duhon of New Iberia; grandchildren, Eric Joseph Bellard and wife Rachel, Emily Louise Derouen, Lexie Nichole Duhon, Kailey Marie Boutte, Richard Gavin Boutte, Ryan Glenn Derouen; and a great granddaughter, Hayden Marie Bellard due to arrive in October. He was preceded in death by his father, Minos Duhon; a son, Glenn Ryan Duhon; step mother, Mae Segura Duhon; father-in-law, Richard Oliver Tullier; mother-in-law, Janet Myers Tullier; brothers, Ricky Duhon, David Duhon; and a special uncle who helped raise him, Avery Romero. ; Pallbearers will be Eric Joseph Bellard, R.P. Boutte, Lawrence Derouen, Steve A. Marcotte, Donald W. Romero, Sr., and Ronald W. Romero. Honorary pallbearers will be Tricia Duhon Boutte, Crystal Duhon Derouen, Emily Louise Derouen, Lexie Nichole Duhon, Kailey Marie Boutte, Richard Gavin Boutte, and Ryan Glenn Derouen. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 3:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Thursday.
