Breaux Bridge A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Howard Albert Devillier, 62, who passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary will be prayed by Raymond Rodriguez at 7 p.m. on Friday. Fr. Donald Pousson will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Lonnie Hebert and Krystal Harrington. Gift Bearers will be Hailey, Zoye, and Cruz Angelle. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Howard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family and all of his friends. There was never a place that he would go where he didnt know someone. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with his 'camping family,' watching his grandsons play sports, and cruising in his 1962 Ford Fairlane. He was a member of the LA National Guard and was a barber in Breaux Bridge for several years. He was employed with the St. Martin Parish Sheriffs Office in the 70s and the Breaux Bridge Police Department in the 80s. He was retired from Fruit of the Loom after 22 years and was currently working with his buddies at D & M Septic Tanks. Howard was a member of the Ford-Mustang Club of Acadiana and Les Roues Fou De Pont Breaux (The Crazy Wheels of Breaux Bridge) Car Clubs. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Pierce Devillier of Breaux Bridge; two daughters, Tonya (Johnathan "Scotty") Thibodeaux, and Naomie (Sandy) Degeyter; one brother, Donald Devillier; three sisters, Jeanette (Cliff) Angelle, Andrea Devillier, and Anna Devillier; his mother-in-law, Verna Dupuis Pierce; his sister in law, Tina (Ralph) Angelle; and four grandchildren, Alek and Aidan Thibodeaux and Brilan and Madden Degeyter. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Madeline Meyers Devillier; paternal grandparents, Dugas and Lourina Devillier; maternal grandparents, Felix and Pauline Meyers; and his father-in-law, Thomas Pierce. Pallbearers will be Alek Thibodeaux, Aidan Thibodeaux, Brilan Degeyter, Elliot Angelle, Zach Angelle, and Craig Devillier. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Devillier, Ralph Angelle, and Donald LeBlanc. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to Drs. Degatur, Broussard, and Brierre, and Heart of Hospice nurses and office staff, for the care, love and support given to Howard and his family during our time of need.
