Irene Moneaux

New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 25, 2013, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Irene Domingue Moneaux, 83, who died on Saturday, February 23, 2013. Interment will follow in the Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery, in Coteau. Rev. Bill Gearheard will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Sunday. Visitation will continue Monday from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Born on April 7, 1929 in Vermilion Parish, Mrs. Moneaux was the daughter of Odel and Edna Touchet Domingue. She enjoyed cooking, and taking care of everyone, especially her family. Survivors include her children, Anelia Mire of New Iberia, Chester Moneaux and wife Jeanette of Delcambre, Jerry Moneaux and wife Carrie of New Iberia, Jess Moneaux and life partner E.J. White of Lafayette; sister, Joyce Bourque of New Iberia; seven grandchildren, Elray Mire and wife Janet of New Iberia, Wade Mire and wife Monique of New Iberia, Tana Phillips and husband John of Erath, Brady Moneaux and wife Lori of Delcambre, Amie Moneaux Heitman and husband Jimmy of Erath, Jerad Moneaux and wife Angie of Youngsville, Jacob Moneaux and wife Kallie of New Iberia; 16 great grandchildren and one due to arrive in July; 2 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Moneaux; great grandchild, Bennett Moneaux; son-in-law, Ophie Mire; brothers, Adonis Domingue, Eugene Domingue; sister-in-law, Millie Domingue; brother-in-law, Curtis Bourque. Pallbearers will be Jerry Moneaux, Jess Moneaux, Elray Mire, Wade Mire, Jerad Moneaux, and Jacob Moneaux. Honorary pallbearers include Tyler Mire, Brady Moneaux, Paul Moneaux, Zachary Moneaux, Kalob Moneaux, Kahlin Moneaux, A.J. Arceneaux, and John Phillips.
