St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Irene Joseph Rochon, 86, who passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010 at Iberia Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Fr. Augustinus Seran, SVD, will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Ethel Joseph and Anika Porter. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Rochon Fontenette and her husband, Edmond, of St. Martinville, and Eunice Rochon of Jeanerette; three brothers, Raymond Joseph and his wife, Lou Ann, of St. Martinville, Floyd Joseph and his wife, Vivian, and Percy Joseph, Jr. and his wife, Joycelyn, all of Lafayette; four sisters, Eula Robertson and husband, Clarence, Virginia Alfred, all of St. Martinville, Leola Joseph and Ella Louise Hurd and her husband, Samuel, all of Lafayette; her sister-in-law, Joyce Joseph Auguillard of St. Martinville; five grandchildren, Terrell Fontenette, Lester Rochon, Kaysha Fontenette, Kayla Fontenette, and Jalisa Landry; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Rochon; her parents, Percy Joseph, Sr. and Louisiana Lockett Joseph; three brothers, Howard, Matthew, and John Joseph; two sisters, Audrey Mae Joseph and Elnora John Louis; a brother-in-law, August John Louis; and a sister-in-law, Sally Mae Joseph. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Church on Saturday, January 8, 2011 from 8 a .m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Abraham, Sr., Percy Joseph, III, Braylon Hurd, Cleveland Morris, Richard Chambers, and Carl Robertson.
