John Singleton

December 5, 1920 — February 13, 2015

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for John Singleton, 94, who passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015, at St. Martinville Rehab & Nursing Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7 am until 10:45 am on Saturday, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Saturday. Rev. Augustinus Seran will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Zelma Singleton. Gift Bearers will be Mary Ethel Singleton, Diane Henry, Judy Bonhomme, and Ginger Francis. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mr. Singleton enjoyed going to Mass and was a lifelong parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church. He enjoyed picking pecans, sitting on his swing underneath the tree watching folks stroll by, and playing cards with his friends. He is survived by his nieces, Ginger Francis, Judy Bonhomme, and Diane Henry; and a host of great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and numerous relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Zulma Anthony Singleton; his brother, Joseph Singleton; and three sisters, Mathilda Tilpo, Esther Bonhomme, and Emma Daniel. Pallbearers will be Benjamin Francis, Jr., Horace Batiste, Torjak Singleton, Malcom Singleton, Jr., Collin James, Jr., and Kirk Singleton.
