Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Monday, July 2, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Linda Guidry White, 78, who passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 2:00 pm on Sunday and continue until 10:45 am on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Sunday. Rev. Gary Schexnayder will officiate at the Funeral Mass. The scriptures will be read by Cydni Angelle and Molli Johnson. Gift Bearers will be Heidi Delcambre, and Cydni, Renee, and Ali Angelle. Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Henderson. Linda was the greatest mother, grandmother, sister, and friend anyone could ever have. She loved life and lived it to the fullest - treasuring every moment she spent with her family and friends. Linda enjoyed going on trips to the casinos, playing Pokeno, and hosting card games for her lifetime friends. Her passion for cooking, especially our 'Cajun' cuisine, was more fulfilled when she was given an opportunity to cook for her family and friends on any given occasion at any given time - feeding many over the years. Linda was young at heart when it came to dancing and spending time with her children and their friends. She was an inspiration to many and will be sorrowfully missed by her family and everyone who knew and loved her. She is survived by three daughters, Tootsie Lastrapes and husband, Kip, Penny Robin and husband, Roland, and Corie Angelle and husband, Chad; four brothers, Alvin "A.J." Guidry and wife, Bertha, Melvin "Tole" Guidry and wife, Oline, John Carey Guidry and wife, Loula Mae, and Ray Vaughn Guidry and wife, Delores; three sisters, Elaine Chaisson, Sue Patin, and Louella Courville and husband, Douglas; 8 grandchildren, Gavin Lastrapes, Heidi Robin Delcambre, Geary Robin, and Cydni, Renee, Ali, Sonny, and Daniel Angelle; and 1 great grandchild, Amalie Mozella Delcambre. She is preceded in death by her parents, Will and Amelia G. Guidry; her son, Geary White; a brother, Norris Guidry; and two sisters, Marie Guidry and Rena G. Dor. Pallbearers will be Gavin Lastrapes, Sonny Angelle, Daniel Angelle, Willis Guidry, Geary Robin, Shane Delcambre, Harvey Johnson, and Herman Keith Patin. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Hobson, Geary Taylor, and Ronald Goulas.
