St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Louise Pierre Lewis, 94, who passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021, peacefully at her home.The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 pm on Friday.Rev. Abelardo Gabriel, SVD and Fr. Douglas Hypolite will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Louise was born to the late George Pierre and Celestine Jean Baptiste on October 3, 1926. She was married Wilfred J. Lewis, Sr., and of this union, she had five beautiful children. Louise was a loving and helpful mother. She was an accomplished housekeeper and a retired custodian employee. She retired from the St. Martin Parish School System in 1991. She is survived by her son, Wilfred Joseph Lewis Jr. (Andre') of Henderson, NV; daughters, Celestine George (William Jr.) of Saint Martinville, Diane Davis (Marvin) of Port Arthur, TX, Katherine Wrenn (Isaac) of Galveston, TX and Beverly Gallow (Jimmy) of Lafayette; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and her sisters-in-law, Rosemary Lewis, Virginia Menard and Stella Linden.She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Joseph Lewis, Sr.; parents George Pierre and Celestine Jean-Baptiste, and her siblings: Wesley Hypolite, Oscar Hypolite, August Hypolite, Eunice Hypolite, Clesme Hypolite, Theresa Pierre, Florence Pierre, Georgia Pierre, Elouise Pierre, Gill Pierre, Silva Pierre and William Pierre, Sr.Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville, 112 New Market St., St. Martinville, LA 70582, (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.<iframe class="ts_player" allowfullscreen="true" allowtransparency="true" allow="autoplay; fullscreen" frameborder="0" height="330" scrolling="no" src="https://www.tributeslides.com/videos/embedded_video/S83FZW4R54854F49" width="512"></iframe>
