Mildred Etienne

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Mildred Etienne, 87, who passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020, at St. Martin Hospital. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the church from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 am on Saturday. Fr. Abelardo Gabriel SVD will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Readers will be Krystal Jones, Starlena Henry, Rosaundra Bing, and Brandi Etienne. Gift Bearers will be Shaleecy Bourda, Tiffany Perrodin, and Shontell Brown. Interment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville. Mrs. Etienne was employed for over 50 years for the late Eddie and Barbara Shea family, who welcomed her as part of their family. She cherished moments spent with her family. During her free time, she enjoyed pampering herself doing her hair and makeup, decorating the inside of her house, cooking for friends and family, and spending time outside gardening and exercising. She is survived by her sons, George (Linda) Etienne, Jr., Walter (Gwen) Etienne, Sr., Willis (Sandra) Etienne, Clifford (Elouise) Etienne, Sr.; daughters, Lucindy (Bobby) Perrodin, Judy (Kenneth, Sr.) Moore; sister, Mary Alice Fontenette; brother, Willis (Jo Ann) Matthews; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sister in laws, Joyce Matthews, Lucy Savoy, Rita (Nolan) Mallery; brother-in-law, Roy (Marie) Etienne. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Joseph Etienne, Sr.; son, Dalton Etienne; infant daughter, Josephine Etienne; infant son, Warren Etienne; father, Morris Matthews; mother, Julia Matthews; great-granddaughter, Kensli Moore; sisters, Maudrey Hills, Margaret Guy, Mary Simon; brothers, William Matthews and Edward Matthews. Pallbearers will be Jacory Perrodin, Kenneth Moore Jr., Walter Etienne Jr., Brandon Etienne, Clifford Etienne Jr., and Jeremy Daye. Honorary pallbearers will be George Etienne Jr., Walter Etienne Sr., Clifford Etienne Sr., Willis Etienne, Kenneth Moore Sr., George Etienne III, Landon Bourda, and Taurien Perro.
