New Iberia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for Rebecca Fremin Theriot, 57, who passed away following an extended illness on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at her St. Martinville home.
Rev. Garrett Savoie will be the Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia on Friday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 am, and will resume on Saturday from 8:00 am until 9:30 am.
A rosary, led by Deacon Douglas Hebert, will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Friday.
A lifelong area resident, Rebecca was born on January 11, 1963 to the late Ulysse and Elsie Broussard Fremin. She was an avid Saints and LSU fan, and loved watching her boys play sports in their youth. She loved playing games, especially Wahoo, Bunko, and Nintendo DS. She also enjoyed word find puzzles, playing cards, doing puzzles with the grandchildren, and eating Sonic ice. Rebecca was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Theriot is survived by two sons, Ryan Theriot of St. Martinville, and Cory (wife Heather) Theriot of New Iberia; sisters, Tammy (husband Kevin) Prados of St. Martinville, and Sharon Fremin of New Iberia; and eight grandchildren, Kamryn Theriot, Kaydon Theriot, Sayge Theriot, Alayna Theriot, Lilly Theriot, Emerie Tarbutton, Tanner Tarbutton, and Kori Kate Theriot.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Geraldine (and husband Allen) Dugas, and Brenda (and husband Rayford) Comeaux; and nephews, Kevin “Sonny” Prados, Jr. and Allen Dugas, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Theriot, Cory Theriot, Kaydon Theriot, Sayge Theriot, Brad Comeaux, Kevin Prados, and Nick Broussard.
