Cecilia- A Memorial Mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Ruby Ann 'Mam' Roberts Bergeron, 82, who passed away on Friday, November 11, 2011 at her daughter's residence in Church Point. Fr. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the funeral service. Scriptures will be read by Jason Watts. Gift bearers will be Jennifer Watts, Amy Prosper, and Raquel Naquin. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Ruby, also affectionately known as 'Mam' to her family and friends, cherished her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren - they made her life complete and brought great joy to her heart, a joy that only a mother could possibly understand. She was known to always have the last word, no matter what. 'Mam' found total contentment in being surrounded by her family and with them, lived life to its fullest. She enjoyed gardening and especially loved baking and cooking for her family and friends. 'Mam' will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Survivors include four daughters, Judy Ann Marcus and husband, Bill, of Denver, CO, Della M. Watts and husband, Donnie, of Baton Rouge, Michelle Broussard and husband, Blaine, of New Iberia, and Renee Richard and husband, Jackie, of Church Point; one sister, Nellie Roberts Hollier; seven grandchildren, Ann Marcus, Catherine Myers, Jason Watts, Jennifer Watts, Ben Prosper, Raquel Naquin, Amy Prosper; and eight great grandchildren , Angela Zawacki, Ava Watts, Taylor Gregerson, Ruby Gregerson, Chloe Sherrow, Caleb Sherrow, Veronica Gregerson, and Jackson Watts; and two step great grandchildren Devon McKinney and Aubree Weldon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony Roberts, Sr. and Edith Collette Roberts; her husband, Wiley John Bergeron; her son, Kimmy James Bergeron; and five brothers, Andrus 'Neg' Roberts, Staford Roberts, Maxie Roberts, Ray Roberts, and Anthony Roberts, Jr. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 19, 2011, from 8 a.m. until time of service. A Rosary will be recited by Wildie Roberts and Shane Castille at 11 a.m. Pellerin Funeral Homeof Ceciliais in charge of arrangements.
