Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Friday, August 17, 2012, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Steve Castex, 50, who died on Wednesday, August 15, 2012. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday and continue at 8:00 am until 9:30 am on Friday. A Rosary will be recited by Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert at 6:00 pm on Thursday. Msgr. Robie Robichaux will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Kenneth Broussard and Jill Simon. Gift Bearers will be Madeline Simon, Margaret Champagne, and Albert Simon. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Steve was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and ;L.S.U. Tigers Football. As a pastime, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and most especially loved watching his son play baseball. Steve was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and a great friend to many, and he will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Tami Bonin Castex of Breaux Bridge; his son, Dru Castex of Breaux Bridge; his parents, Lennet and Lou Anna S. Castex of Breaux Bridge; his sister, Nina Judice and her husband, Edmond, of St. Martinville; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eric and Linda Bonin of St. Martinville; and his brother-in-law, Chad Bonin of Parks. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Garland Castex; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Simon; and his brother-in-law, Brandon Bonin. Pallbearers will be Chad Bonin, Edmond Judice, Derrick Hebert, Scott Capdepon, Wade Domingue, and Eddie Meagher Honorary Pallbearers will be, Mark Thibodeaux, Clark Thibodeaux, and Kevin Mire. Pellerin Funeral Home, 211 Berard St., Breaux Bridge, LA 70517, (337.332.2199), is in charge of arrangements.
