New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Stuart J. Simon, 48, who died on Thursday, March 7, 2013. Entombment will follow in the Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum, in Coteau Deacon Theo Landry will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Saturday. Visitation will continue Sunday from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Born on January 16, 1965, Stuart was a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia. A graduate of New Iberia Senior High School, he enjoyed fishing, keeping up with current news and family events. Survivors include parents, Dianne Saintes Broussard and Ronald Broussard of New Iberia, Leo P. Simon of New Iberia; sister, Priscilla Sugar of New Iberia; uncle, Mark Anthony Saintes and wife Shannon Fontenot Saintes of New Iberia; aunt, Gloria Saintes of New Iberia; godchild, India Sugar of Jacksonville, Florida; Friend, Bobby Childs of Atlanta, Georgia; brother-in-law, Bernard Sugar of Jacksonville, Florida; and many close great aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harold and Gertrude Saintes; paternal grandparents, Lodo and Eli Simon; his godfather, Harold B, Saintes; and many great aunts, uncles, and cousins. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers include Billy Bass, Bernard Sugar, Wayne Dupree, Brandon Saintes, Mark Saintes, Rodney Viator, and Neil Landry.
