Wynona Lasseigne

April 30, 1954 — May 22, 2012

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Wynona J. Lasseigne, 58, who passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in Lafayette. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday at 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday. Fr. Rusty Richard, Pastor of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church will conduct the services. The Reader will be Mac Domingue. Gift Bearers will be Tracy Zitkovic-Worsham, Beth Armentor-Krantz and Blaine Joseph Worsham. The Eulogy will be presented by Sandra Louis, a special friend and caregiver. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette. Wynona lived in Lafayette during her earlier years with her mother and father until her mothers passing. She attended Johnnie Scott Center and New Hope Center. Wynona lived many years in St. Martinville with her father and step-mother, until she became a resident of St. Martinville Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility. Wynona loved her new home, her new friends, music, dancing, crafts, Senior Special Olympics while receiving numerous medals at the Comeaux Recreational Center. Wynona was a loving child and adult, she thrived on love and affection. She received much love and attention for which we are very grateful. She was loved by all who knew her. She was our Angel and a child of God who will be deeply missed. We will remember her smile and the special names she gave to all those she loved. Survivors include her two sisters, Flossie Lasseigne Krantz, and Noemie 'Mimi' Lasseigne Gautreau and her husband, Gene M. Gautreau; her step-mother, Elsie Hebert Lasseigne; her step-brother, P. J. Hebert and his wife, Vickey Hebert; her step-sister, Mary Helen Hebert Stevens and her husband, Hugh Stevens; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Gabriel Lasseigne; her mother, Gussie Domingue Lasseigne; her maternal grandparents, Maurice and Noemie Begnaud Domingue; her paternal grandparents, Andr and Lilia Olivier Lasseigne. Special Thanks to Dr. Kenneth McCarron, the Staff at St. Martin Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility, Sandra Louis, Gwen Tabor and her roommate Dot for the special love and attention. Pallbearers will be Kevin B. Krantz, Frank Lloyd Zitkovic, Kevin Damian Krantz, Kailyn Krantz, Tom Worsham, and Gene M. Gautreau. Honorary pallbearers will be James Gautreau, Kim Hebert, Clyde Lasseigne, Roy Romero, Harmon Sheppard, and Mike Thibodeaux.
