Abigail Jo Romero

New Iberia - Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Abigail Jo Romero, 14, who passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center as the result of an automobile accident. Rev. Keith Landry will officiate. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on Tuesday. A rosary, led by Deacon Durk Viator, will be prayed at 11:00 am on Tuesday. Abigail was born on November 9, 2006 and was a home schooled eighth grade student. She had a sweet and spicy personality, and was a very private person. She enjoyed reading, lying in bed, taking four-hour baths, drawing and painting, and going on late night spur of the moment adventures. She loved the bands BTS and Slip Knot, and hanging out with "The Hemorrhoids" (special friends). Abigail was one of a kind, and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her father and stepmother, Andy Romero, Sr. and Brandi B. Romero of New Iberia; mother, Ashley Broussard; sister, Alexis Romero; brother, Andy Romero, Jr. (Lyric), all of New Iberia; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Verlon Romero of New Iberia; maternal grandparents, Randy and Tina Broussard of New Iberia; step-grandparents, Mike and Cindy Broussard of New Iberia; aunt who was like a mom, Rachel (Phillip) Ransonet of New Iberia; parrain and aunt, Toby and Wendy Romero of New Iberia; aunts, Tracy Trimble (Danny Comeaux) of New Iberia, and Allison Broussard (fiancee Scott Dees) of New Iberia; special cousins, Derek Ransonet (fiancée Chelsea Crochet), Devon Ransonet, Sophie Delahoussaye, Emily Vincent, and Eli Landry; and cousins, Amber, Ridge, Brytton, Kimberly, Destin, Kali, Braden, Toby, Jr. and Ashley. Pallbearers will be Toby Romero, Derek Ransonet, Devon Ransonet, Andy Romero, Jr., Cory Thornhill, and Braydon Romero. Honorary pallbearers are Eli Landry, Randy Broussard, Mike Broussard, and Scott Dees. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Appley and the entire staff of Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center for extraordinary care.
