St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in St. Martinville, for Agnes Babin Berthelot, 91, who passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Msgr. J. Douglas Courville, pastor of St. Martin de Tours will officiate. Survivors include her daughters, Vivian Melancon and her husband, Ashley of Lafayette and Velma Prosper of St. Martinville; her son, Vernon Berthelot and his wife, Inez of St. Martinville; her brother, Jules Babin of Breaux Bridge; her grandchildren, Craig Latiolais and his wife, Michelle, Barry Melancon and his wife Gwen, Randy Melancon, Keri Delhomme and her husband, Jake, Casey Berthelot, Callie Bonin and her husband, Jude and Crissy Berthelot; and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Camille Berthelot; her parents, Cleo and Edmae Champagne Babin; her sons-in law, Alden Latiolais and Ben Prosper; her sisters, Sedonia and Rita Babin; and her brothers, Leo, Leroy, Raoul, Numa, Antoine, Junior, Lovis and Lynn Babin. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. ;on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Craig Latiolais, Barry Melancon, Randy Melancon, Casey Berthelot, Trevor Champagne and Brook Latiolais. Honorary pallbearers will be Jude Bonin, Jake Delhomme, Vernon Berthelot and Ashley Melancon. The family would like to extend a special 'Thank You' to the staff ;at St. Martin ;Nursing Home ;for their compassionate care given to their mother over the years.
