Aileen "Jo" Duplantis Broussard

St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, December 13, 2013, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in St. Martinville, for Aileen "Jo" Duplantis Broussard, 63, who passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Thursday, and continue at 8:00 am until 10:45 am on Friday. Rev. Steve Horn, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lafayette, will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Momma Jo loved fishing, L.S.U., and the Saints. She was retired from the St. Martin Parish School Board, where she worked for 34 years. She was a woman of great compassion, beloved for her very generous heart. She is survived by her sons, Jody Broussard and wife, Celeste, of Breaux Bridge and Brad Broussard and wife, Jessica, of St. Martinville; her brothers, Warren "Tookie" Duplantis and wife, Janice, of St. Martinville, Nolan "Noonie" Duplantis and wife, Dobie, of St. Martinville, Jerry Lee Duplantis and wife, Debbie, of Baton Rouge, Larry Duplantis and wife, Nancy, of New Iberia, Carroll Duplantis St. Martinville; her sisters, Janet Buford Duplantis and husband, Ed, of New Iberia, Helen K. Boutte of New Iberia, and Vicky Holleman and husband, Tommy, of New Iberia; her honorary sister, Kathleen Dupre of Lafayette; and five grandchildren, Brooke Broussard, Jade Broussard, Kiley Broussard, Mia Broussard, and Katelyn Broussard. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Helen Rist Duplantis; her brother, Sonny Duplantis; and her honorary sister, Cordy Martin. Pallbearers will be Warren "Tookie" Duplantis, Nolan "Noonie" Duplantis, Jerry Lee Duplantis, Larry Duplantis, Caroll Duplantis, Ed Buford, Thomas Holleman, and Paul Broussard, Jr. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville, 112 New Market St., St. Martinville, LA 70582, (337-394-9121) is in charge of arrangements.
