Breaux Bridge A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Alfred Joseph Potier, Sr., 71, who passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pellerin Funeral Home, 211 Berard St., from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday and continue at 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Friday. Rev. Joseph Campion will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Reading the scriptures will be Rossline Potier. Gift bearers will be Bailey Williams and Rayien Jones. Music will be provided by Gilbert Gilly Wiltz. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Mr. Alfred enjoyed playing the lottery, especially Pick 3 and Pick 4; he also enjoyed a good game of Bourr. Mr. Alfred enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; always guiding his grandchildren and family to do the right things and make the right choices in life. He enjoyed attending Sunday church services every week. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Potier of Breaux Bridge; his sons, Macwayne (Rossline) Potier of Maurice, Alfred (Denise) Potier, Jr. of Parks, Kenneth Jones, Jr. of Breaux Bridge and Chad Jones of Houston, TX, his daughters, Karen Potier and Latricia Potier both of Parks, Chere (Benjamin) Alex, Carlette (Jamarcus) Butler and Kimberly Jones all of Breaux Bridge; his sisters, Joyce Plummer and Alice (Wilson) Filer all of Parks, 19 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Potier and Mary Ebow Potier; his brothers, Alvin and Peter Potier; his granddaughter, Regan Dersoulle; his nephew, Dwayne Filer; his father in law, Aurlien William; his mother in law, Bernice Alexander. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be members of his family.
