St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Notre Dame Catholic Church, for Alice Charles Narcisse, 76, who passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Iberia Medical Center.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home on Saturday from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM on Saturday.
Interment will follow at St Michael Cemetery.
Alice loved spending time with her family, cooking, going to concerts, and shopping (especially for purses). She had a lifelong passion of working with children and was determined to learn how to drive, at the early age of 65, so she could travel to her job as a foster grandparent for the Smile Headstart Foster Grandparent Program. She had a love for kids and spent her career working at several daycare centers in the community, as well as the St. Martin Parish School System as a Paraprofessional.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Yolanda Narcisse (Jay) Mitchell and Robinlena Marie Charles (Blake) Livings; grandchildren, Martel Narcisse, MaKaven Narcisse, Lionel Narcisse, Mahogany Narcisse, Craig Babers, Jr., Isaiah Hypolite, Breionica Anthony, and Skye Livings; brother, Victor (Emily) Charles; and her sister, Shirley Moss.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lionel Narcisse; daughter, Teasdale James; parents, Martin and Yolanda Hypolite Charles; and her siblings, Martin Charles, Jr., Jenny Charles, Serita Benjamin, Marie Charles and Harry Charles.
