LTCOL ALLEN MENARD U.S. Air Force, Retired Lt. Col. Allen J. Menard, U.S. Air Force (ret.), age 72, of Las Vegas passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, in Las Vegas. Born Jan. 16, 1942, in Breaux Bridge, La., he was a Las Vegas resident for more than 30 years. Lt. Col. Menard served in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot and later in data operations management. After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked for Raytheon, U.S. Airways and volunteered with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
He is survived by his wife, of 38 years, Cheri; children, Carolyn (Don) Agate, David Menard, Tammy Varner and Sondra (Fred) Montgomery; grandchildren, Michael Varner and Amy Agate; sisters, Velma (Jackie) Comb, Yvette (Greg) Cormier and Yvonne (Wayne) Latiolais; and brother, Russell (Joy) Menard.
Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, with funeral services following, both at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be at 8 a.m. Thursday, May 22, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City.
