New Iberia Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Alma Lee Knotts Lancon, 93, who died on Saturday, March 8, 2014 in Jeanerette. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Tuesday. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Mrs. Lancon was born on December 2, 1920 and was the daughter of Louis Benjamin Knotts and Maggie Lea Knotts. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening, crocheting, cooking, and especially making her pepper jelly. Survivors include her daughters, Lacey Guidry and husband Charles Guidry, Jr of Lydia, Denise Legnon and husband Glenn of Lydia, Jean Theriot and husband Michael of Jeanerette, Dianne Louviere and husband Huey of Charenton; sister, Margie Pearl Newman and husband Jimmy of Gillsburg, MS; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lovelace Lancon, and a brother, William Benjamin Knotts. Pallbearers will be Daniel Guidry, Scott Legnon, Jeb Legnon, Kyle Scott, Dwayne Louviere, and Kelly Louviere. Honorary pallbearers include Charles Chuck Guidry, Jr., Glenn Legnon, Michael Theriot, Huey Louviere, Jeremiah Hebert, Chris Shinn, Craig Shinn, Coy Shinn, and Curt Shinn.
