Alton "Alpo" Harrington, Jr.

Erath - Alton “Alpo” Harrington Jr. passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at the age of 86.

He was born on June 22, 1939, in Erath, Louisiana. Throughout his life, he was known for his strength, humor, loyalty, kindness, strong work ethic, and devotion to his family. He was the life of the party, with a presence that lit up any room. Anyone around him was quickly made to feel welcome, happy, and at ease.

He was a lifelong entrepreneur and business owner, including the first skating rink in Abbeville, The Villa, The Cantina, Cajun Custom Body Shop, and others throughout the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton Harrington Sr. and Edmae Harrington, and his daughter-in-law, Dodie Harrington.

He is survived by his three siblings: Barbara Rippon and her husband, John; Sharon Callahan and her husband, Burt; and Mike Harrington and his wife, Neysa. He is also survived by his four children: Tab Harrington and his wife, Donna; Todd Harrington; Trent Harrington and his late wife, Dodie; and Jade Smith and her wife, Jess. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Tabitha Blanco, Mitchell Harrington, Megan Harrington, Tristyn LeBlanc, Tahner Raphael, Mikka Harrington and seven great-grandchildren.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and remembered privately by his family.
