Alvin "Brud" Huval

Coteau – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church 11:00 am Saturday, August 15, 2026, for Alton “Brud” Huval, 75, who passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.

Rev. Matthew Hebert will be the Celebrant.

Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 am until 10:15 am.

A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Friday.

Alvin James “Brud” Huval was born on September 26, 1950, to the late Lawrence “Bishon” and Una Hulin Huval. In his early years, Brud was a carpenter, working side by side with his father. Later, he worked and retired from Hunting Energy Services. When Brud wasn’t spending quality time with his family, he enjoyed time spent with his wife and their Toledo Bend family on the lake. Brud’s passions were gardening, cooking for his family and friends, deer hunting, and fishing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Huval is survived by his loving wife, Jean Campbell Huval; children, Angie Robicheaux (Craig) of New Iberia, Kim Perrin of Kaplan, Jonathan Perrin (Ann Marie) of Youngsville, and Mandy Ortego (Billy) of Chatagnier; grandchildren, Derek Robicheaux (Lexy), Seth Stansbury (Annie), Brooksie Russo (Tyler), Alan Stansbury (Callie), Hailey Braquet (Jason), Zachary Perrin (Taylor), Nathanial Perrin (Morgan), Mallory Daigle (Colyn), Morgan Ortego, Lorraine Ortego, and Noah Roussel; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Angelena Wagoner (Kevin); brothers-in-law, Lonnie Campbell (Cathy) and Errol Campbell (Kay); uncle, Chester Huval, Sr. (Gale); nephews, Jess Dutile (Tina) and Kelly Dutile; great-nephews, Elijah Dutile an Jett Dutile.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Lanest Campbell; mother-in-law, Marie Campbell; sister-in-law, Peggy Motlow; daughter, Jessica Perrin; sister, Emily H. Dutile, and his best friend/fur baby, Buddy.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Perrin, Jess Dutile, Craig Robicheaux, Seth Stansbury, Alan Stansbury, and Jason Braquet, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are Bill Ortego, Noah Roussel, Elijah Dutile, Jett Dutile, Darryl Gary, and Kevin Wagoner.
