Amkhamany Keohavong

New Iberia – Funeral services will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 22, 2026, for Amkhamany Thou Keohavong, 48, who passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Hospice of Acadiana’s Calcutta House.

Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will resume on Saturday from 8:00 am until 11:00 am.

A resident of New Iberia, Amkhamany was born on October 7, 1977. He was a beloved son, father, grandfather, and friend whose laughter and warmth touched everyone who knew him.

Amkhamany was a member of Highland Baptist Church. He had a gift for art and drawing, and an even greater gift for making people laugh. Known as a jokester with a generous spirit, he could brighten any room and lift any mood. His humor and love will be deeply missed by his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Mr. Keohavong is survived by his daughter, Alexis Keohavong, and her mother, Tanisha Johnson; his son, Brighton Keohavong; his grandchildren, Lyelah, Leyana, and Jhream; his sister, Bouamany Keohavong; his nephews, Branden Howard and Michael Howard; his mother, Keomanichana Keohavong; and his grandfather, Rev. Soubanh Keohavong.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Matha Keohavong; his father, Boualay Keohavong; and his brothers, Amphaymany Keohavong and Amphonemany Keohavong.

Amkhamany was a good son, a devoted father, and a loving grandfather. He will be remembered for his artistry, his humor, and the joy he brought to those around him. His light will continue to shine through the family and friends he leaves behind.
