Breaux Bridge- Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, April 3, 2008, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Amma Lou Blanchard LeBlanc, 70, who passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Doctor's Hospital of Opelousas.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Fr. Allen Breaux, Associate Pastor of St. Bernard Church, will conduct the services. Gift bearers will be her grandchildren.
""Lou"" was a dedicated housewife, mother and grandmother. ?She enjoyed camping, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. ?Sundays at the LeBlanc home brought great joy to her by having all of her children come for lunch - it was a day of true family gathering and family love.
Survivors include three sons, James LeBlanc and his wife, Belinda, Johnny LeBlanc and his wife, Shally, all of Breaux Bridge; and Jerry LeBlanc and his wife, Dawn Nobles LeBlanc, of Whiteville, North Carolina; two daughters, Ruby Venable and Julie LeBlanc, both of Breaux Bridge; two sisters, Willa Mae Noel and Winola Hebert, both of Breaux Bridge; and her grandchildren, Robert Venable, David Venable, Elizabeth Venable, Arielle LeBlanc, Claire LeBlanc, Daelyn LeBlanc, Krista LeBlanc, Kelsie LeBlanc, Grant Martin, Lydia Martin, Summer Martin, and Abbie LeBlanc. ???
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert ""Bobby"" LeBlanc; and her parents, Robert and Noelie Thibodeaux Blanchard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday and continue at 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be her three sons, James, Johnny, and Jerry LeBlanc, Robert and David Venable, and Eddie Noel.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
