Amy Romero

New Iberia – Private services will be held for Amy Romero, 95, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 25, 2026.

A native of Vermilion Parish, Ms. Romero, was born on May 14, 1931, to the late Clovis and Domatile Babin Romero. She was a long-time resident of New Iberia and worked for many years at Magnolia Elementary School. An excellent cook, Ms. Romero enjoyed nature, rainy days, but most of all spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Laurie Romero of Broussard, Melissa Freese of Breaux Bridge, and Nathan Romero of Youngsville; and grandchildren, Lauren Bonin and Nathan Romero, II.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Romero was preceded in by a son, Christopher Romero; and her siblings, Inez Romero, Junius Romero, John Cloda Romero, Sr., and Clodore Romero.

Pallbearers include Laurie Romero, Lauren Bonin, Johnny Romero, Justin Mire, Nathan Romero, II, and Brian Romero.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Loi Lee.

The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana, especially to Ms. Romero's nurse, Natalie, for their care and compassion.
