Coteau A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday, October 4, 2013 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau for Anna Mae Henry, 88, who died Wednesday, October 2, 2013, in New Iberia.
Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
Rev. Barry Crochet will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 2:30 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia until 9:15 AM Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Thursday.
Born on September 7, 1925 in Loreauville, Mrs. Henry was the daughter of Louis and Anna Reaux Hulin, and was the owner of Anna Maes Grocery Store. She enjoyed fishing, watching television game shows, going for rides in the car, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Walter L. T-Boy Henry and wife Brenda Henry of Coteau, Barbara Tina Hayman and husband Donald Buddy Hayman of Coteau, Lynn J. Romero, Sr. and wife Elsie Romero of Coteau; grandchildren, Matt Henry and wife Mandy, Judy Viator and husband Paulis, Francine Martin, Charlie Martin and wife Nicole, Lynn J. Romero, Jr., and wife Nicole; 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, and a godchild, Jeanette Sanford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Henry; a son, Russell J. Romero; a grandson, Billy Ray Martin; 2 great grandchildren, Brandon Martin and Brittany Viator; and several brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Lynn J. Romero, Sr., Matthew Ray Henry, Lynn J. Romero, Jr., Casey Broussard, Charlie Martin, and Paulis Viator.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Carl Ditch, Acadian Home Health, the staff of Iberia Medical Center, and to her sitter, Mary Duplantis for their extraordinary care and compassion.
