New Iberia – Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Anna Mae Broussard Menard Vincent, 99, who passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Consolata Nursing Home.

Rev. Keith Landry will officiate.

Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm Saturday.

A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 11:00 am Saturday.

Anna Mae Broussard Menard Vincent, a woman of remarkable and unwavering faith, was born on April 5, 1924, in Maurice, Louisiana.

Throughout her life, Anna Mae displayed a strong work ethic and an incredible ability to bring joy to those around her. From 1950-53, alongside her beloved husband Wilson Menard, Sr., she owned and operated a grocery store on Bank and St. Peter streets. The store became a cherished gathering place for the community.

Anna Mae's passion for serving others extended beyond the grocery store. She worked as a salesclerk at several area retail stores and dedicated herself to cooking for the students at Catholic High School. With each meal she prepared, Anna Mae nurtured not only their bodies but also their spirits.

Anna Mae's devout Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life. She served as a eucharistic minister at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church and was a member of St. Ann's Altar Society. Her commitment to her faith was evident in everything she did. She was also a member of Woodmen of the World.

Anna Mae's proudest accomplishments were rooted in her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and even great-great-grandmother. Her love for her family knew no bounds and spanned an extraordinary five generations. With every gathering and milestone celebrated together, they created countless cherished memories that will forever be treasured.

Anna Mae possessed an unyielding spirit that inspired all who knew her. She faced life's challenges with determination and resolve. Her unwavering trust in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit served as a guiding light throughout her journey.

Beyond her commitments to family and faith, Anna Mae possessed a creative spirit. She found joy in sewing, crocheting, and crafting. Her talents and creations were a testament to her meticulous attention to detail and artistic flair.

Mrs. Vincent is survived by three children, Orien Menard (Suzette), Diana Gail Menard Trim, and Wilson Joseph Menard, Jr. (Jenny); two half-sisters, Patsy Marks and Linda Alleman; grandchildren, Yvette Bryars (Ken), Pamela Menard, Jackie Menard, Dwight Frith (Crystal), Rhonda Dionne (Chad), Stephanie Nero (Kevin), Scott Frith (Heather), Kimberly St. Julien (Alvin), Chelsea Faucheaux, Blake Trim (Amanda), Shannon Viator, Trent Menard (Dawn), Travis Menard (Kristene), Tracy Menard (Adrien), and Trevor Menard (Brittany); 30 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladu Broussard and Estelle Simon Broussard; husbands, Wilson Joseph Menard, Sr., Friendi Maturin, and Emile Vincent; daughter, Estelle Marie Menard Frith; sister, Gladys Broussard Menard; brothers, Gladu Broussard, Jr., and Clifford Broussard; and half-brother, Raywood Broussard.

Pallbearers are Scott and Dwight Frith, and Trent, Travis, Trevor, Tracy, Jackie and Pamela Menard.

Mrs. Vincent’s impact on the lives she touched, her enduring love, unwavering support, and genuine care for others will be remembered for generations to come. May she rest in peace.
