Anthony Champagne

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM , Saturday, June 18, 2011 , at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville, for Anthony Felix Champagne Jr. 88, who passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 in New Iberia . Interment will follow in St. Bernard No. 1 Cemetery, in Breaux Bridge , with military honors by the St. Martin Parish Honor Guard. Msgr. J. Douglas Courville will officiate. Born on May 30, 1923 , Mr. Champagne was a retired part time deputy with the St. Martin Parish Sheriffs Department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion in Parks. Survivors include his sons, Merrill Champagne and wife Cathie, Ronnie Champagne and wife Abagail, Scott Champagne, and Kim Champagne and wife Vicki all of St. Martinville; daughter, Rochelle Peltier of New Iberia; brother, Allen Champagne and wife Margaret of Rome, Georgia; 14 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Cormier Champagne, and his parents, Anthony and Cleonise Savoy Champagne, Sr. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville.
