Antoine Berard

Cecilia- Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. , on Friday, December 3, 2010 , at St. Jospeh Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Antoine Berard, 71, who passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas . Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Mr. Berard enjoyed working on his farm and in his yard. In his free time he would hunt, watch movies and go out dancing. Survivors include his daughters, Elizabeth 'Liz' Berard of Nina and Jane Berard Scarborough and her husband, Michael John of Lafayette; his brothers, Jerry Berard and his wife, Barbara, Darrell Berard, Mike Berard and his wife Billie, all of Breaux Bridge, John Berard and his wife, Rona of Walker; his sisters, Linda Pontiff and her husband, Ronald of Arnaudville and Louella Babineaux of Breaux Bridge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvette Courville Berard, his parents, Walter and Theresa Serrette Berard and a brother, George Berard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 8 a .m. until 12 noon on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
