Armine was born on July 28, 1928, and was the daughter of Rolland and Blanche Migues Denison. She grew up across from the Pesson Dairy Farm when Bank Avenue was still a dirt road, and enjoyed sharing stories of her childhood with Papou, Mamou and her five sisters and one brother. Armine was an avid reader and especially enjoyed when the branch library was located in City Park across the street from her house. She loved animals and enjoyed feeding birds (cardinals were her favorite), squirrels and the stray cats that found their way to her backyard. She was a proud member of the New Iberia High School Class of 1945 Lunch Club, the Shadows on the Teche Service League, and participated in the North Lewis Elementary H.O.S.T.S. mentoring program for several years. She enjoyed traveling, trips to New Orleans and spending time with her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be sorely missed by all. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Donald Bonin of New Iberia and four children: Mary Ellen Methvin and husband, Jerry, of New Iberia, Andre Bodin and husband, Rusty, of New Iberia, Donald Mark Bonin and wife, Liz, of Madison, Miss., Patrick Bonin and wife, Karen, of New Iberia, and one sister, Elaine Denison Upton and husband, J.C., of Houston, Texas. She is survived by seven grandchildren: Andrew S. Harris and wife, Bethany, Jay Reed and wife, Melissa, and Nicholas Bonin, all of New Iberia, Catherine Harris of New Orleans, Emily Reed Fraser and husband, Ryan, of Carencro, Sarah and Caroline Bonin of Madison, Miss., and five great-grandchildren: Lillian and Elizabeth Harris and Evelyn and Celia Reed, all of New Iberia, and Jack Thomas Fraser, of Carencro. She also is survived by four step-grandchildren and 11 step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rolland and Blanche Migues Denison, one brother, Roland Denison, sisters Lil Judice, Ruth Eldridge, Lenora Broussard and Gertie Duhe, and one great grandson, Kevin James Fraser. Pallbearers will be Donald Mark Bonin, Patrick Bonin, Andrew Harris, Jay Reed, Nicholas Bonin and Rusty Bodin. The family would like to thank the staff of Maison Teche Nursing Home in Jeanerette for their caring help and support, as well as her great Heart of Hospice nurse, Callie Latiolais. Special thanks to Leola Moose Chatman, Marion Latigue, Jhori Lanceslin and Eva Mae Rollins for their excellent, diligent care and friendship throughout her illness.
