Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at St. Bernard Borel Center in Breaux Bridge, for Artemise Richard Lalonde, 88, who passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm on Tuesday, and continue on Wednesday at 8:00 am until 10:30 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Tuesday.
Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Readers will be Sonya Gore and Nicole Krauwurst. Gift bearers will be Sarah Huval and Mona Guidry.
Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park in Lafayette.
Artemise enjoyed reading, cooking, and making homemade goods such as cakes and bread. She and her husband liked riding horses and attending horse shows together. Artemise was a great seamstress and took great pride in what she made. She was known for making the best western clothes. Family was her life and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her legacy will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary L. Guidry and husband Sidney J., Leola L. Angelle and husband Ricky, Debra L. LeBlanc and husband Michael, and Cheryl L. Richard and husband Doug; sons, Jeffery Lalonde and wife Pamela, Timothy Lalonde and wife Vickie, and David Lalonde and wife Lisa; brother, Daniel Richard; sisters, Laura Lasseigne, Theresa Huval, Elaine Latiolais; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Lalonde; parents, Ferrier and Julia LaGrange Richard; son, Terry Jude Lalonde; brothers, Howard Richard, Avie Richard, Irving Richard, Raymond Richard, Hilton Richard, Milton Richard; sisters, Clemance Allemond, Lena Boudreaux, Barbara Richard; and one great grandchild, Grace LeBlanc.
Pallbearers will be Keber Guidry, Ricky R. Angelle, Stephen LeBlanc, Shay Lalonde, Dustin Lalonde, and Brad Lalonde.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffery Lalonde, Teddy Lalonde, and Drew Richard.
