New Iberia – Memorial services are pending at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Austin Tyler Landry, 27, who passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024.
A resident of New Iberia, Austin was born on December 12, 1996, and was a 2015 graduate of Westgate High School. Throughout the years, he worked at several different places, including the M.A. Patout Sugar Mill and most recently Super One Foods. Austin had a passion for music and was a self-taught guitar and drum player. He played with the band “Submerged” and with “Zizi”, during which they won the 2021 “Battle of the Bands” Contest in Baton Rouge.
Austin was also a talented artist and poetry writer. An avid fan of the “Beatles”, he also loved “Batman”. Austin was extremely kindhearted and would help anyone. He will be deeply missed. May his memory be a blessing.
Survivors include his mother, Kimber Landry; father, John S. Landry (Karla); sisters, Jessica Cason Landry, Casey Cason Maturin, Lindsay Cason Hallam (John), and Kaitlyn Landry Miles (Cody); stepbrother, Alex Ritter; stepsister, Emily Myers; godparents, DeEtte and John Randolph; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and his beloved pets, “Betty” and “Violet”.
Austin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and DeLores Freeman, Harold and Alma Landry; uncle, Jody Freeman; and a brother-in-law, Jared Maturin.
