Barbara Gail Broussard

Breaux Bridge - Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Monday, March 10, 2014, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Barbara Gail Broussard, 71, who passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm on Sunday and continue at 8:00 am until 10:30 am on Monday. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Butch Hebert at 7:00 pm on Sunday. Rev. Paul Patin, SJ, Our Lady of the Oaks Retreat Center, will officiate at the Funeral Service. Readers will be Kelli Romero and Kim Romero. Gift Bearers will be Zoe Higginbotham and Paige Romero. Music will be provided by Pat Menard and Beth Hebert. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Barbara was a community leader with St. Bernard and St. Francis Service Center and a docent for St. Martin Parish Codifil. She was an avid gardener and a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Christopher Heumann, Eric (Melissa Mills) Heumann, and David (Tabitha) Heumann; her daughter, Stephanie Heumann; her sisters, Brenda Cormier Verret, Kathleen Cormier Romero, and Lori Cormier Thibodeaux; and her granddaughter, Chloe Heumann. She is preceded in death by her father, Freddy Cormier; her mother, Mildred Broussard Cormier; and her nephew, Robert Lynn "Rocky" Romero II. Pallbearers will be Chris Heumann, Eric Heumann, David Heumann, Daniel Thibodeaux, Caleb Thibodeaux, and Aubrey Heumann. Honorary pallbearer will be Nicholas Romero. The family would like to thank Rodessa and the Staff of St. Joseph Hospice for their compassionate care.
