It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Angelle Degeyter, known to many as Mrs. Bob. Barbara passed away in Lafayette, LA on February 11, 2026, surrounded by family.
Barbara was a lifelong resident of Cecilia, LA where she lived and worked side by side with the love of her life, Cyriaque. She was a devoted daughter and mother and her home was always full of the grandchildren she and Cyriaque loved dearly. She was a fiercely loyal wife, mother, and friend.
She traveled far and wide over many years, with her beloved husband, family, and friends. These were adventures that she treasured and loved to reminisce on. Later in her life, Barbara spent more time at home, where she was always most comfortable, enjoying the company of her grandchildren, great-granddaughters and great-great niece and nephew, all who loved visiting her.
Mrs. Bob also loved good food, coffee, and shopping with her best friends. Everyone who entered her home was offered fresh coffee and friendship; she touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her.
Barbara exuded a quiet strength led by her deep faith in the Good Lord. Throughout her life she overcame many losses and challenges, yet remained generous to others and hopeful in her faith. She was a small but mighty force who continued to pray for everyone she knew--family both by blood and chosen--and loved with a heart full of gratitude, even in the face of her passing.
Barbara was the best of us. Cher Bob. We love you.
She is survived by her son, Dale Degeyter; daughter, Tammie Gibson (Tommy); grandchildren, Brian Gibson (Dawn), River Gibson, Ashley Degeyter and step-granchild, Scott Gibson (Nicole); great-grandchildren, Delta Pacheco-Degeyter, Selena Pacheco-Degeyter, Gabrielle Gibson, and Everleigh Gibson; and her step-great- great grandchildren, Rowan Gibson and Drake Gibson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Cyriaque Degeyter III; parents, Florent and Angella Hollier Angelle; sisters, Elsi Angelle Stelly Amy Angelle; and her brothers, Lauray Angelle, Cecil Angelle, and Leroy Angelle.
Pallbearers will be Dale Degeyter, Christopher Knott, Caleb Degeyter, Shane Degeyter, Mike Angelle, Andrew Pacheco and Jeron Henry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hayden Degeyter and Jeremy Gresham.
