St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 2, 2022, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Barbara Ann Jacquet, 77, who passed away at her home.
A visitation will take place at the Notre Dame Catholic Church on Friday from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 AM on Friday.
Rev. Marvin Gyasie, S.V.D, will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Breighlyn Polk and Kyliee Jacquet. Gift bearers will be Alaina Zenon, Keia Jacquet, Teia Jacquet and Temia Jacquet.
Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery.
Barbara was born September 2, 1944, in Lafayette. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Family meant everything to Barbara. She enjoyed cooking, music, and had a passion for helping others. She was known as the "neighborhood mom" because she took care of everyone like her own. She was strong in her faith and was a loyal parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church. Barbara will be deeply missed.
She is survived by daughter Kila Francis (Melvin); son Keith Jacquet (Carlette); 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister Cliter Hayward (Glenn); and brothers, Melvin Jones (Vedis) and Willie Jones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Irvin Jones, Sr., and Leola Mitchell Jones; husband, Randolph Jacquet; daughter, Cora Perry; son, James Jacquet, Jr.; brothers, Irvin Jones and Warren Jones.
Pallbearers will be John Perry, James Jacquet, Jr., Jovante' Perry, Jaquinceton Dauphine, Jerod Perry and Sylvester Leon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Jacquet, Melvin Francis, Willie Jones, Melvin Jones, Corey Savoy, Kendall James, Brian Joseph Francis, Glenn Hayward, Terrance Dauphine, Perry Batiste and Timothy Martin.
