Barbara Romero Leleux

New Iberia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, for Barbara Romero Leleux, 93, who passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery.

Rev. Garrett Savoie will be the Celebrant.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Leleux was born on January 25, 1931, to the late Wiltz and Noemie Meyers Romero. She enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with her family. 

Survivors include her daughter, Libby Johnson; son, Daryl Leleux (Pamela); 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Leleux was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Shelton Leleux; sons, Wiltz Thomas Leleux and Robert Shelton; brother, Wilfred A. “Sonny” Romero; sister, Hedy Romero Geer; daughter-in-law, Betty Jo Clark Leleux; and son-in-law, Billy Ray Johnson.
