Bernard 'Barney' Michael Lowe, Sr.

August 4, 1958 — July 6, 2016

New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm, on Monday, July 11, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home New Iberia, for Barney Lowe, Sr., 57, who passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, in New Iberia. A gathering of family and friends will be at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM on Monday. Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant. Barney was a native and resident of Baltimore, Maryland, and was employed by Sysco Foods for 17 years. He was born on August 4, 1958 to Karl Sr. and Julie Ward Lowe. Barney had a passion for all things outdoors, and especially enjoyed crabbing, cutting grass, watching NASCAR, and listening to country music while Bar-B-Queuing and smoking his Marlboro Reds. One of his favorite things to do was give the middle finger. He loved the crappy Redskins, the New Orleans Saints, and the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles, and enjoyed going to the games. Barney loved to talk; our world will be a much quieter and sadder place without him. Barney is survived by his wife, Phyllis Brusio Lowe of Baltimore; daughters, Bobbi Burns, and Cassandra Kice and fiance John Murphy, all of Baltimore, MD; son, Bernard M. Lowe, Jr. of Baltimore; mother, Julie Willis of New Iberia; brother, Thomas "Tommy" Lowe and fiance Loretta Anderson of New Iberia; three sisters, Judy Nowlin, Mary Broussard, and Linda Reaux, all of New Iberia; four grandchildren, Reeyana Watson of Baltimore, Michael Lowe of Maryland, and Carter and Christian Lowe of Berkeley Springs, WV; godchildren, Jeffrey Lowe and wife Meta of New Iberia, and Carla Medrano of Baltimore; numerous nieces and nephews; and his two dogs that he adored, Jack and Jake. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Lowe, Sr.; a sister, Sue Rodrigues; and a nephew, John Lowe, Jr. Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
