New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Bob Owens, 63, who passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2010 in Lafayette. ; Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, in Jeanerette ; Rev. David Denton will officiate. ; Born on March 4, 1947, Bob is a former deputy of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff Department, and was a yacht builder having worked for Gulf Craft, and Broward Marine. A veteran of the US Army, he enjoyed carpentry, golf, fishing, and being outdoors. ; Survivors include his daughter, Angela Owen Fleet and husband Mitchell of Spring, Texas; sister, Irene Guillotte of Jeanerette; brothers, Whitney Owens, Jr. and wife Juanita of New Iberia, Jimmy Owens, Sr. and wife Shannon of Jeanerette, Steve Owens, Sr. and wife Darlene of Jeanerette; grandchildren, Victoria, Noah, and Jordan. ; He was preceded in death by his parents, Whitney Owens, Sr. and Evelina Broussard Owens; and a brother, David Owens. ; Pallbearers will be Steve Owens, Sr., Rene Owens, Randy Owens, Sr., Rusty Owens, Jason Broussard, and Frank Myers. ; Honorary pallbearers include Jimmy Owens, Sr. and Whitney Owens, Jr. ; A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia.
