St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville honoring the life of Bobby Ray Bennett, 89, who passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at his residence.
A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.
Father Randy Courville will officiate at the Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery.
Born on February 25, 1937, in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, Bobby spent his life embodying the values of dedication, love, and service.
Bobby proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for 22 years until his retirement. His commitment to service extended beyond his military career; he acted as a mentor and father figure to countless young soldiers on the Air Force base, providing guidance and support.
Residing in St. Martinville, Louisiana, Bobby was a man of many passions. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life- camping and riding motorcycles. Bobby also loved spending time outdoors, fishing and gardening.
Bobby was loved by many and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his sons, Jeffery Bennett (Monica) and Jay Marshall; daughter, Pamela Bennett; sister, Debbie Johnson (Ronnie); grandchildren, Brett Bennett (Sharon), Krista Brown, Bralynn Marshall and Skylar Marshall; and great-grandchildren, Colston Bennett, Brynn Bennett and Britton Bennett.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Hypolite Bennett; parents, Vernon Bennett and Frankie Bell Bennett; and brother, Troy Bennett.
Pallbearers will be Brett Bennett, Colston Bennett, Jay Marshall, Morris Batiste and Allen Gill.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to his caregiver, Kristal Hebert, for the care, compassion and comfort that she provided.
