Bolden Haydel

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, December 31, 2010 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Bolden William Haydel, 90, who died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 in Lafayette . Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, in New Iberia . Msgr. J. Douglas Courville will be the Celebrant. Born on March 29, 1920 , Mr. Haydel worked for Allis-Chalmers Tractors and Broussard Machine Company. A veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees, Mr. Haydel proudly served our country during World War II. He enjoyed fishing, shrimping, working in his yard, and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Grace Bodin Haydel of St. Martinville; sons, Richard Charles Haydel and wife Jayne of Kingwood, Texas, Lanny John Haydel and wife Claire of New Iberia, William Haydel and wife Denise of New Iberia; daughters, Claire Marie Broussard and husband Terry of St. Martinville, Trudy Anne Labat and husband Terry of LaPlace; 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Anna Dooley Haydel. Pallbearers will be Jason Haydel, John Haydel, Adam Haydel, Joseph Labat, Jude Labat, Louis Labat, Scott Haydel, Ryan Haydel, and Christopher Haydel. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, in St. Martinville. A rosary will be prayed at 5:00 PM Thursday.
