Brenda Delcambre Bourque was born on February 10, 1951, to the late Minos, Sr. and Janet Baye Delcambre. She was a simple person with an extraordinary capacity for love and joy, a quality that endeared her to everyone she met. Her life was a tapestry woven from the threads of laughter, kindness, and creativity, as she expressed herself through various crafts, spent cherished afternoons watching TV, and enjoyed the thrill of playing bingo.
As a member of the Greenhouse Senior Arts Center, Brenda found kinship within her community. Her creativity was not just limited to the crafts she made; it extended into the hearts of her family, especially through the affection she showered on her nieces and nephews. Brenda was known fondly as the "fun aunt," a title she wore proudly as she embraced her role in their lives.
After the heart-wrenching loss of her own two boys, Brenda's strength shined even brighter. She seamlessly stepped into the role of a second mother, nurturing and supporting her extended family with unwavering love. Each of her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart. She especially loved spoiling James, Jacob, Adam, Willie, Bentley, Warren Jr., Jason, Ace, Fox, Arron, Mason, Connor, Atlas, Roman, Shannon, Timmy Jr., and Stella. Brenda provided not just material gifts but also an abundance of love, guidance, and cherished memories that they will carry with them for years to come.
Brenda is survived by siblings, Mary Linda Delcambre, Barbara Velazquez, Sandra Gaspard (Warren), Sally Delcambre, Timmy Delcambre, Sr. (Renee), and Betty Hoxworth; and numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Ronald Bourque, Jr., and Kevin Bourque; and brothers, Minos Delcambre, Jr. and Lonnie Delcambre.
Brenda’s spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in peace.
